Church Government: obedience to God or man? | Pro Regno
The introduction of women in all offices in the last of the three sister churches, the RCSA, go cruising. For about 30 years is reason the synod table, if not longer?
The Order proposal and turnaround of 2012 (the beswaarskrifte about VIDA postponed to 2015) made it a radical, perhaps the most radical new twist was taking, because the implications of the Order suggest that basically all kinds of church discipline against churches that do women as elders, suspended, at least until 2015. This sent the message is clear:
2. the 'behoudendes' usually at VIDA, must now be convinced (habituation made?): that they may still be at VIDA be 'personally' and their 'own congregations', but they may have in the denomination practice gathered together in several meetings where women rule as elders by their representatives at those meetings, if it conflicts with point 1.
- There are still so many issues that we agree, do not let this minor or moderate case (VIDA) divide us now consider and focus on the turnaround, not breaking 1 Tim.2: 11.12 our denomination. Synod 2009 has already found that VIDA is not a matter that threatens the unity of the church, filter air and is surely not a confession matter (see the VIDA Catechism, especially v / s 10-12).
- As a delegate is you only the Public Statement by major assemblies for yourself and / or for your church 'mode, so if other delegates in the ninth commandment violated filter air it is their case', your conscience is clear, you do just that 'right'.
c. therefore it is not a question of what can or we can not do, or what is the 'best' filter air to do, but it's a gewetenskwessie of: to whom should we obey God's Word or to people and meetings more 1 Tim.2: 11,12 obey the religious practice?
I'm posting below an article of ex-facing pastor, Reverend. WF Venter, The Government of the Church, from the collection of Precious Gold (Reformed filter air Faith Learning, by different ministers of the Reformed Churches in South Africa) - in which he says to the other forms of church government, the reformed church governance entails.
He stated inter alia that church councils by their delegates at major assemblies authority (KO art.36), so rule together with other church supplies at several meetings. This means that the modernist view that all more behoudendes live, viz. we govern together in several meetings, unbiblical and ongereformeerd. Here is the specific quote from his article I long here (read the whole article below to understand the context in which he takes):
".... Although there is a difference between this meeting and our several meetings, this meeting today rightly filter air called the first major assembly of the churches. The various independent congregations manage filter air their local interests independent of each other, yet they are not separate and independent of one another, but are linked by the bond of common confession and church institution.
This denomination is revealed in several meetings of the churches of the Reformed confession. Various church councils come together in a classis or synod. Such a classis or synod is not a higher filter air management body (as at Kollegialiste), but a meeting of a group of church councils to consult on matters of common nature. A classis or synod, therefore only that authority transferred to it by the joint church councils. It is usually called derivative authority, while the authority of the church council original authority (ie vested in Christ, the church). Classis or synod's decisions are binding on the churches - not because they were made by a higher authority, but because those churches (through their representatives) worked together in making those decisions.
We can make the difference between, reformed system and Kollegialistiese at this point explain with two images: according to the latter filter air concept, the synod the pond from which the water (ecclesiastical authority) be conducted in the beds (Kerkrade); according to the Reformed understanding, however, is synod (or classis) river water (ecclesiastical authority) by sprouts (church councils) convey it to him.
